Summer Assignments

Summer Assignments

Welcome to our Auburn Junior High School Summer Assignments page! We’re excited to help you keep learning, growing, and staying sharp over the summer break. These assignments are designed to prepare you for a strong start next school year while giving you the flexibility to work at your own pace. We can’t wait to see all you accomplish—enjoy your summer and happy learning! If a course is not listed, it is safe to assume that it does not have summer assignments.

  • All students enrolled in Advanced Biology will need to pick up a summer work packet from the front office or print the pdf, which can be accessed here.

    • No matter which semester students are enrolled, summer work is due on the first day of school, August 7th and students will take the Summer Work Assessment on the second day of class .

    • Summer work may be submitted to your teacher during meet the teacher night or the first day of school. A basket for drop-off will be placed in front of your assigned teacher's door. Keep a hard copy for yourself for your review.

    • If students enroll into Auburn City Schools after July 27th, you will have an extension to complete summer work. Those newly enrolled students will have until August 14th to complete summer work and will be assessed on summer work August 17th.

    • A notes manual for the course can be purchased through MySchoolBucks. The link to purchase manuals will close on schedule pick up day.

  • Students signed up for Advanced World History are expected to complete the 9th Grade Advanced World History Summer Reading Packet. Print out the packet and bring a completed copy for your teacher to check in class. Students will take an assessment covering the packet on the 2nd day of class. If you are unable to access the readings there are copies available in the front office that you can pick up.

  •

Students need to select any two books and read them before the first day of school. Inexpensive copies are available at local bookstores, Well Red, and Auburn Oil. Auburn Public Library has multiple copies available, and AJHS has copies on Sora. Click here to download a PDF of the book options.
